Poetic Expression

Fear. There are many unknowns and uncertainties we are now facing, which characteristically as humans, tends to activate our fear responses.

Bingo. A word we had fun with this week. A word that once again led us in different directions, that explored feelings, thoughts along the way.

It was our trip to Halls Gap, driving along the A8 and noticing the devastating impact of the recent fires that gave me the chance to delve into myself and draw out more of what I was seeing, feeling and my responses to it.

Expression. So much to this word in terms of what it brings. So many forms of expression, poetry and prose, included.

Prime. An interesting word that took us in a variety of directions. Prime can be added to so many things in life; prime numbers, prime minister, prime real estate, prime suspect, prime time of your life.

Dragon. A magical legendary creature that appears in the folklore of multiple cultures worldwide. Beliefs about dragons vary considerably.

String. As an object, it has many uses. It also has many applications within a broad range of expressions.

A sneeze. Just one or many. Can feel relieving or annoying. It just arrives often without warning. A natural bodily function that we have all experienced. So where does the word take you?

This week’s word was ‘therefore’. An adverb that is often written, not spoken as much. A helpful word for many reasons….

This week’s word was ‘charity’. Some see the act of charity as kind and helpful, some patronising and damaging.

Spicy, a word used to describe many things, most commonly related to food. And yet, this word also took us into discussions about life.

This week’s word was ‘uncanny’. What a great way to express about phenomena that is difficult to explain.
