Poetic Expression

It seems the feeling of alienation, came through in the poems, and we hope you enjoy the diversity of the way in which this emerges.

While we often view a genius in a positive light, we also recognise, that like most humans, it is not all ‘roses’. And what is ‘genius’? Often we think of the grand, however what about the genius in the simple?

‘Thrill’ – a word that took us on many journeys! What we loved this week, was the way in which we could feel the ‘thrill’ of it, as the poems unfolded.

‘Teabag’ – now who would have thought such a word could bring out so many themes. We hardly realised ourselves what would arrive.

‘Surprise’ – it was no surprise that this word, used frequently in our language, brought much variation with the direction of the poems this week.

‘Eerie’ – what is eerie to you? What do you see? How does it feel? For some of us, it is not somewhere we want to go too often, as it can bring up more than we want to face.

‘Temptation’ – this was a good word to explore as it really led to some relevant life themes we are facing in our society today.

‘Naked’ – what does it say to you? Where does it take you? Naked; a term that could apply to things that are no longer disguised or covered.

Quickly. It once again drew out themes that related to life. It had us explore feelings about things, phenomena and way of life. It’s amazing the power of a word.

‘Scam’ – a word that arrived and unfortunately nowadays, is something that has meaning for many of us in some way or other.

‘Candle’ – the role it has played in our history and our evolution. So many rituals that involve them and gifts brought through them. What stands out for you?

‘Colour’ – the magic of. The incredible gift of light that brings the spectrum of possibilities. So many shades and variations, that can be seen and experienced in every thing that exists around us.
