Mesmerised- poetic expression

Mesmerising.
Holding or capturing one’s complete attention. Perhaps because of beauty or some other form of power or attraction.

What have you been mesmerised by?

Hope you enjoy these expressions for the week.

We will be having a pause with these sessions, while Nigel and I explore a different part of the world, and who knows, we may arrive back with some new inspirational words!

In the meantime, we have listed 6 words to continue your writing while we are away, and we look forward to hearing a broad range of poems and expressions when we return on Monday May 5th 2025.

Visit our events calendar for the sessions.
Here are the 6 words…

about… zero… seize… beacon… mystery… decay…

Alfred’s Journey

We all watched in anticipation
Feeling the force of nature

With wind gusts
Dismantling what was once called home

And torrential rain forming oceans that drowned possessions

Swirling clouds creating a thunderous roar

We held our breath with fear
For those who were near

The wrath of Alfred
Brought such dread

The world watched
Mesmerized

My Moment

Gazing out at the shapes and shades
Those engaging clouds never cease to amaze
They drift on by leaving wonderful space
To be graced by the stars when darkness is nigh
Eyes engage at the sparkle and wonder
Standing calm in the stillness of the night
To mesmerise at such a glorious sight
