Poetic Expression

Page was the word for the week. It was a word that took us to different places, all of which once again made way for learning about ourselves, others and the world around us.

Our word for the week was ‘elephant’.
What an amazing animal. So much to explore about them. What do you know and feel about them and what they bring?

What do you feel when you hear the word ‘death’. At different times of your life, this word may conjure something different. It is about endings that may apply to many topics, which the poems reflected.

Detergent & Sunset. We decided to do 2 words however combine them into the one poem! The fun of this, was that the words were world’s apart in nature, so we were excited to see where it took us.

Fluff. Certainly a different word to express about. Once again, we realised there are so many ways this word can be applied.

Lock. What does the word conjure for you? Often used as a symbol or metaphor in life.

Travel. Where has travel taken you? What has it brought? This word brought the opportunity to notice what we discovered, learnt, realised, experienced, witnessed,

Reflection. We were taken into many directions with this word. Upon reflection, it was a word that drew us in, to parts of ourselves.

Fear. There are many unknowns and uncertainties we are now facing, which characteristically as humans, tends to activate our fear responses.

Bingo. A word we had fun with this week. A word that once again led us in different directions, that explored feelings, thoughts along the way.

It was our trip to Halls Gap, driving along the A8 and noticing the devastating impact of the recent fires that gave me the chance to delve into myself and draw out more of what I was seeing, feeling and my responses to it.

Expression. So much to this word in terms of what it brings. So many forms of expression, poetry and prose, included.
