We chose between two words this week: festival or suitcase.
They are very different words, each bringing opportunities to explore something in our lives. Which word resonates with you? What stands out?
Once again we look forward to the many directions people travel with the words provided. Such diversity of feelings, thoughts, expression, imagination.
More importantly, the themes that are awakened, gives us some time to share our feelings and explore our own selves.
If this is something you’d like to engage, you are most welcome to join us. Or pass it on to someone who you feel may enjoy and gain from this approach.
Next week’s word is ‘fake’.
Hope to see you there.

Fete
It might not sound
Like a festival
As a kid I sure did love
going to the school fete
Toffee apples on a stick
Fairy floss stuck on my lips
Lucky dips galore
Some prizes not liked at all
Then treasure hunts to explore
Never missed a find: what a joy
The silly games I played
Iike the barrel of bobbing apples
Only allowed to use teeth and lips
First to bite a piece
The reward was being first
That was enough for
my childish pride to burst
Stomach filled with warm
sugar coated jam donut balls
and the chocolate coconut
marshmallow treats
Oh what a combination so sweet
all the sugar fix I could eat
fuelling my excitement and energy
through a day that was unique
and full of shared boyhood innocence

Daily Festival?
Red, green, yellow, orange
All the colours you can imagine
Music, dance, talks, sharing
What a paradise we are in
Free of worries and sorrow
Joy flies everywhere
Smiling, moving and chatting to anyone you like
Not scared of rejection
Just mingle and enjoy the moment
Could this festival be a daily thing

The Festival of Life
Warmth through my window
Feet on cushioned floor
Touch of nutrition
A shower to cleanse
Walk in the park
Pause by the pond
Ducks everywhere
Speaking from the heart
Sharing feelings
Shaping thoughts
Building ideas
Special connections
Finding peace
Visit markets
Interesting people
Talk with a stranger
Music the backdrop
Dancing inside
Dancing out loud
Natural commotion
Cultural aroma
Colourful mural
Streetscape
Jacaranda design
So sublime
What a celebration
The festival of life…

The Suitcase
I have arrived, shown to my room
A sense of dread as I sit on the bed
Let’s unpack, you will feel at home
We have photos in old frames
Some trinkets of many years gone by
Ornaments I cannot describe
Given with so much pride
Made by such small hands
Now adult size, resting on my shoulder
No clothes, no need
Life’s festival of memories
Mine and mine alone
Unlocked from my suitcase
