‘As the twig bends, so grows the tree’
’
From the beginning of time
The evolutionary decline
Of our human kind
Has crept in
Creating a spin
A vortex too difficult to escape
Easier to placate
To lessen the pain
And individually gain
No longer able to refrain
From the temptations that say
Hey… it’s okay
You deserve this
So enjoy the bliss
Of this short lived abyss
Because it may already be too late
To eat food from a plate
That has grown from a tree
With the freedom to be
What it is…
Without being corrupted
Or disrupted
By what now exists
Because of what we couldn’t resist
To do and say
Along the way…

Why did you plant my seeds in toxic ground?
I’m here with chemicals and micro plastics!
it’s not a good start…
And just as i was about to shoot from my roots
I was stomped on by a boot!
Then came the drought
That left me in doubt
Of surviving or thriving
I was told i wasn’t wanted
Do you know how that felt?
They even fought about
Wanting to pull me out!
Ouch, did that hurt.
So despite the fury of the wind
That threw me off balance
I did survive
Although my trunk
Began to misalign
And to this day,
I feel the true pain
When people say…

Do Your Best
caught in the net
of that vile white powder
the voices in his head
became louder and louder
spiralling down such a crooked path
that lead to theft, cruel lies and deceit
no true friends he would ever meet
left all alone in a sickening world
a world that made no sense
gruelling to opened that imaginary door
not an easy journey that’s for sure
proud to have shed that repulsive mask
to be disconnected from such a dark past
