Knit a Care Square in UK

Just recently we decided to visit friends and family in Europe and UK, and while there we decided to make contact with organisations who were involved in a similar project to our Knit a Care Square project in Australia, and we are grateful that we connected with Hope and Aid Direct.

Sue from Hope and Aid Direct has been involved in coordinating and making blankets from the multitude of squares donated, for those in need for the past 15 years. Recently since the conflict in Ukraine, there has been a request for adult sized blankets, and Sue informed us that the 81st convoy to Ukraine has just left! The link to the Hope and Aid Direct website is here.

If you’d like to read more about this project and hear more about how you can contribute, here is a link to an article that was written on Jo Andrew’s wonderful website, Haptic and Hue, that you can visit here.

So… for any of our KACS members living or visiting UK we feel this is a great project to donate your squares to, as we too donate locally and to those experiencing hardship in war affected areas.

Please share with us when you do, so we can highlight the efforts being made to help people in the world, on our FaceBook page.
